Feliciano School of Business Faculty and Staff Serve at Inaugural Community Impact Day
Feliciano School of Business faculty and staff, led by Dean Kimberly Hollister, joined colleagues from across Montclair State University for Community Impact Day, a university-wide day of collective service and reflection. The event brought together university employees and community partners to directly support local and global humanitarian causes. A central highlight of the day’s service activities was the university's partnership with Rise Against Hunger, an international humanitarian organization dedicated to ending global hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies.
Feliciano School of Business faculty and staff dedicated their time to participating in a Rise Against Hunger Meal Packaging Experience. Working in synchronized assembly lines, volunteers filled, weighed, sealed, and boxed nutritious, shelf-stable meal packages containing rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and essential micronutrients. These packaged meals are distributed worldwide to support school feeding programs, vocational training initiatives, and emergency relief efforts in areas facing acute food insecurity.
Community Impact Day was co-developed by the Office of Community Engagement and Partnerships and the Office of Inclusive Excellence to expand Montclair State’s community reach through collective action. The event invited faculty and staff to engage in hands-on volunteer projects both on and off campus while reflecting on the connection between students, service, belonging, and the university’s core institutional mission.
