Music found Macheis Wind while he was working as a medical intern in a rural hospital in Kenya. He has spent over thirty years using songwriting as a tool for emotional healing in the hidden worlds of domestic violence safe houses, homeless shelters, residential facilities for at-risk teens and a women's prison. Now he brings that work to the stage in original songs and the stories behind them, alongside guitar-driven rock from his latest album, As Innocent As You.
"Compassion is such a large part of Art. My eyes have been opened."
— Andy Wallace, Grammy-winning producer and mixer (Jeff Buckley, Nirvana, Coldplay)
