Biography
Dr. Stephen E. Tillotson is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Justice Studies at Montclair State University. He holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Dr. Tillotson’s professional interests focus on correctional systems and practices with special interests in the collateral effects of incarceration and the evolution of correctional systems. Alongside numerous conference presentations, his scholarly work has previously been published in The Prison Journal. Prior to joining the Montclair State University Justice Studies faculty in Fall 2025, Dr. Tillotson was a faculty member at universities in Indiana, Texas, and Oregon.
