Dr. McGaughey’s clinical experience drives her passion for research. She studies variation in pregnancy outcomes and guideline-based care by race, ethnicity, nativity, income, and geographic location. Dr. McGaughey is specifically interested in organizational factors in prenatal care that contribute to optimal birth outcomes for young individuals and those from minoritized racial and ethnic groups.
