Biography
Madison Kranis (she/her/hers) serves as a Program Coordinator within Montclair State University’s College of Humanities and Social Sciences, supporting the Global Center on Human Trafficking (GCHT), Center for Latino Heritage and Spanish Language Excellence (CLaSE), New Jersey Center for Indigenous Justice (NJCIJ), and Native American and Indigenous Studies (NAIS). Her work spans program and event coordination, financial administration, communications and outreach, student engagement, and strategic initiatives. She works across these units with external partners to advance their academic and community-engagement missions.
At the core of Madison’s work is a commitment to human rights, education, and equitable access to opportunity. She is particularly interested in how institutions can create opportunities for individuals and communities while advancing ethical and socially responsible practices.
Madison began her academic journey at Brookdale Community College, where she studied criminal justice, before transferring to Montclair State University and earning her BA in Justice Studies (2020). She went on to earn an MA in Human Trafficking, Migration and Organized Crime from St Mary’s University, Twickenham in London and an MS in Sustainability Leadership from Montclair State University (2026).
Madison’s areas of interest include vulnerabilities and pathways to human trafficking, labor exploitation within supply chains, and the role of ethical sourcing, responsible business practices, and corporate accountability in prevention.
Research
Madison's experience lies within Responsible Business, she has featured in a podcast discussing the increase of consumer awareness around supply chains and labor practices and how this is applying pressure on businesses to ensure they are prioritizing ethical practices
