Research
Before teaching at Montclair State, Prof. Field taught at several schools in North Carolina, including Guilford College and The University of North Carolina, Greensboro. In addition to her PhD, Laura holds a Graduate Certificate in Women's and Gender Studies. Her dissertation considers the challenges of employing a feminist pedagogy in the writing classroom and suggests how women's rhetoric(s) may offer methods for resolving the conflict. More recently, Prof. Field collaborated on the development and design of Montclair State's First Year Writing Studio. Her current focus is the coordination of the Workshop.
