Biography
Erik Jacobson is the Graduate Program Coordinator for the Masters of Reading. He teaches courses on literacy foundations, content-area literacy, and reading comprehension. His current research focuses on adult basic education policy, the connection between adult education and community building and adult basic education in Japan. He is also interested in the use of popular culture in the teaching of literacy, including graphic novels, manga and comics.
He is currently Past President of the University Senate and is Chair of the Committee for Just and Sustainable Practices. He is also the faculty contact for Students for Justice in Palestine.
