Biography
Doreen Liou, EdD, RDN, is Associate Professor at Montclair State University in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in nutrition science, nutrition education, and social marketing in nutrition. She holds a doctorate in Nutrition Education from Teachers College, Columbia University.
Her research interests include applications of social psychological theories of health behavior in diverse population groups examining fat-related behavior, obesity risk reduction behavior in Chinese and Caucasian populations and COVID-19 beliefs and prevention among university students.
Dr. Liou is the second author of a textbook on Nutrition Counseling and Education Skill Development (2nd to 5th editions) used in colleges and universities across the U.S. and internationally.
