Biography

Dr. Barry Bachenheimer has been an adjunct professor at Montclair State University since 1998 in the Teaching & Learning and Educational Leadership Departments. He currently teaches in the Educational Leadership Master's Degree Program and serves on the University's AI Steering Committee (2026). Dr. Bachenheimer was the recipient of the prestigious Ercel Watson Award from the University in 2009 for his ongoing support of teacher education programs. He was an Engaged Teaching Fellow with the Office of Faculty Excellence in the 2018-19 Academic Year. He was a member of the Montclair State University Network for Educational Renewal Executive Board from 2003-2025. He has also published numerous articles, book chapters, and periodical submissions. Dr. Bachenheimer has been the keynote speaker at the annual Spring Educator Job Exchange since 2015 at the University. Dr. Bachenheimer has 33 years of school experience as a teacher, supervisor, principal, curriculum director, and Assistant Superintendent, and retired from that role in 2025. His research interests include technology integration, AI, growth mindset, standards-based evaluation, and role-playing simulations for instruction.
