Biography
Anne Appert (They/Them) uses their experience working as a children's book illustrator to teach students the importance of storytelling within their own work. Their class takes the skills learned in traditional media and applies it to digital painting, all while focusing on the importance of character development, composition, and personal style to create compelling art.
Anne graduated with an BFA in Illustration from The Fashion Institute of Technology in 2011. They volunteer as the Illustrator Coordinator for the New Jersey chapter of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Their portfolio has won mulitple honors, and their book BLOB was reviewed by Kirkus, School Library Journal, and The Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books Reviews. Their second book, WHAT IF YOU WISH? will publish in 2023 from HarperCollins.
