Biography

I am a 1978 graduate of Montclair State, where I earned a B.A. degree in history, summa cum laude, and a New Jersey teacher certification for social studies, grades 7 to 12. I obtained my J.D. degree from Rutgers Law School in Newark in 1982.

I have been practicing law in New Jersey since 1982, and I have been teaching here at Montclair State since 1986.

I try to include in all of the courses I teach here at Montclair instruction about the content and skills that I wish I knew before I went to law school.

I have taught the following courses at Montclair State:

Undergraduate Courses: Freedom, Slavery, and the Law; Senior Research and Writing Seminar in Jurisprudence (Parts 1 and 2); Essentials of Jurisprudence; Legal Writing; Legal Reasoning; Introduction to Paralegalism; Civil Litigation; Introduction to Law; and Fundamentals of Legal Research.

Graduate Courses: Research Methods and Analysis and Administrative Law.
