FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITIES:
Clean Energy Fellowship Program (NJEDA)
The Clean Energy Fellowship Program, sponsored by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA), is designed to encourage and support interdisciplinary student research in topics that further the development of, and build student and faculty expertise in, clean energy concepts. Undergraduate and graduate university students at participating universities will be provided the opportunity to conduct paid research in various sectors of clean energy, such as geothermal, solar, wind, hydrogen, fuel cells, biomass, tidal, nuclear, and hydropower, under the mentorship of a university faculty advisor over an academic year. In addition to financial stipends, students will receive the opportunity to gain industry knowledge through monthly cohort meetings, guest lectures, site visits, and other activities. Students will present their research findings to industry, academic, and community stakeholders at an annual Clean Energy Research Symposium. University awards are subject to availability of funding.

Program Benefits:
- Undergraduates will receive a $13,500 stipend for research and related expenses
- Graduates will receive a $27,000 stipend and tuition for research and related expenses
- Additional $500 for travel, materials, and other Fellowship expenses.
- Mentorship under a Montclair State University faculty member.
- Both graduate and undergraduate fellows are expected to attend monthly NJEDA meetings and present their work at a spring symposium, which will occur off-campus.
- Gain industry knowledge and exposure to career opportunities through networking, cohort trainings, site visits, and other activities
Eligibility:
- Rising Juniors and Seniors for undergraduate research who will maintain student status till June 2027.
- Masters and Doctoral students for graduate research
- Open to all fields of study
Application Requirements:
- Statement of research in clean energy (500 words)
- One reference letter of recommendation
- Unofficial transcript
- Resume
